If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

The operator of the Service may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after updates are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. User Accounts

Some features of the Service may require you to create an account.

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • ensuring that information provided during registration is accurate
  • all activity conducted under your account

The Service reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the platform.

3. User Content

The Service allows users to upload photographs, catch information, and related fishing data (“User Content”).

By uploading User Content, you grant the Service operator a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free licence to:

  • store and host the content
  • reproduce and display the content within the Service
  • analyse and process the content
  • generate statistics, insights, and derivative datasets
  • improve automated analysis systems
  • use the content for research, analytics, and platform development
  • distribute, license, or commercialise aggregated datasets derived from the content

Users retain ownership of their original uploaded photographs and content, subject to the licence granted above.

You confirm that you have the legal right to upload the content and grant this licence.

Data Licensing and Fisheries Intelligence

The Service may analyse information submitted by users, including catch records, environmental conditions, and associated metadata, in order to generate statistical insights, trend analysis, and derived datasets relating to fishing activity.

Derived datasets may include, for example:

  • species distribution and migration trends
  • catch rate statistics
  • environmental correlations (such as tide, weather, seasonality, or water conditions)
  • regional fishing activity trends
  • aggregated recreational fishing data

These insights and datasets may be:

  • used internally to improve the Service
  • incorporated into research or analytical reports
  • shared with industry partners or research organisations
  • licensed or otherwise made available for commercial purposes

Derived datasets may be created by combining information submitted by users with environmental data, mapping data, or other publicly available datasets.

Where such datasets are shared or licensed, they are intended to be aggregated or analytical in nature and not designed to identify individual users.

4. Image Metadata and Automated Processing

Images uploaded to the Service may contain embedded metadata, including:

  • geographic coordinates
  • date and time the image was captured
  • device information
  • technical camera attributes

The Service may extract and analyse this metadata to support features such as:

  • catch logging
  • mapping and location tagging
  • species identification
  • catch statistics
  • environmental and tide correlations
  • analytics and platform improvements

Images and associated metadata may be processed using automated systems and third-party services, including artificial intelligence tools and data providers.

5. Catch Data and Location Information

Catch records may include information such as:

  • species
  • catch length or weight
  • environmental conditions
  • catch location

To help protect fishing locations:

  • Exact geographic coordinates are not displayed to other users by default.
  • Locations presented within the Service may be generalised or approximate.

Catch data may be used to generate statistics, insights, and aggregated datasets relating to fishing activity.

6. Platform Operation and Technical Data

To operate, maintain, and improve the Service, certain technical and usage information may be collected automatically, including:

  • IP addresses
  • device identifiers
  • application version information
  • usage activity within the Service
  • diagnostic and performance information

This information is used to:

  • maintain system security
  • improve platform functionality
  • prevent misuse or abuse
  • analyse service performance

7. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party providers to support functionality such as:

  • image analysis and automated processing
  • mapping and geolocation services
  • weather, marine, or tide information
  • analytics and infrastructure services

Use of such services may involve the transfer and processing of uploaded content and associated metadata.

The Service operator is not responsible for the independent practices of third-party providers.

8. Fishing Regulations and Legal Compliance

Fishing regulations, including catch limits, size limits, and seasonal restrictions, vary by jurisdiction.

Information provided within the Service regarding fishing regulations is provided for general informational purposes only and may not always be complete or current.

Users remain solely responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable fishing laws and regulations.

9. Environmental Data Disclaimer

Environmental information such as weather, tide conditions, and marine data may be sourced from external providers.

Such information is provided without guarantee of accuracy or completeness.

The Service operator is not responsible for decisions made based on environmental or fishing insights provided by the Service.

10. Data Accuracy

Catch information within the Service is primarily user-generated.

The Service operator does not verify the accuracy of all user-submitted data and is not responsible for inaccuracies, misidentifications, or incorrect catch records.

11. Intellectual Property

All software, branding, design, and technology used in the Service remain the property of the Service operator.

Users may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.
